Great price to get a beater on the street again. Used the GM reset sequence of key on 10 min., off 10 sec., on 10 min., off 10 sec., on 10 min., off ten seconds, then start car. Doing this will cause the you to lose the use of your key fobs (if they still work) and reset your odo to 000000, but you will avoid a $500.00 charge from your friendly gm dealer on a model of car which has bankrupted anyone who hasn't done their own work for the past 12 years.
